Wilson

The last graphic novel I read was David Mazzucchelli’s Asterios Polyp, which I really enjoyed. This morning I read Daniel Clowes’ new graphic novel Wilson, which I borrowed from a friend. I really don’t keep up too much on graphic novels, but I always enjoy Clowes’ work. Something about how he sees characters seems so real.

Wilson was really terrific, depressing, sad, funny, and all the things Clowes does so well he did even better here. I was really sad to see that his project with Michel Gondry was shut down because “Nobody wants to make a 150 million dollar art film.” as he put it. I did hear that he is working with Gondry on another project though. Hope it follows through.
